Recruitment of the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Media Awards (OMAs) Trainer

The OFAB Africa Media Awards (OMAs) recognizes exemplary journalism that promotes best practices in science reporting, with a focus on agricultural biotechnology.

The primary objective is to strengthen the capacity of OFAB Media Awardees in effectively communicating complex scientific concepts, particularly in agricultural biotechnology, to diverse audiences.

The trainer will help participants refine their skills in delivering accurate, compelling, and easily understandable science stories to the public.

The assignment is expected to last for 5 days, consisting of 3 days of preparation and 2 days of in-person training. The trainer may be required to travel to designated OFAB regional chapter.

The OFAB Africa Media Awards (OMAs), now in its 8th year, recognizes exemplary journalism that promotes best practices in science reporting, with a focus on agricultural biotechnology.

The OMAs rewards journalism that exhibits professionality and fosters public understanding of science and modern agricultural biotechnology. Held annually, the awards showcase exemplary contribution of journalists from OFAB chapters in ten countries.

The judges evaluate media award submissions based on pre-established criteria focusing on agricultural biotechnology discoveries, product development, technology impacts on livelihoods/economies, biotech projects, opportunities, challenges, and regulatory policies in Africa ensuring that all entries are judged fairly, transparently, and without bias.

VACANCY: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Assistant

AATF is looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Assistant to provide support to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit in development and optimization of MEAL Strategy that measures program-wide performance and achievements towards outcomes (using the Outcomes & Impact Framework core indicators and other methods as appropriate) including roll-out of MEAL related initiatives.
